Learning isn’t just confined to the classroom, we always encourage learning to continue at home!
We expect children to complete different homework each week, and work with parents to support them in helping children at home. If you are every unsure, or would like any support – please just come and see you!
Reading
We expect all children to read at home at least five times a week, ideally every day. Children who are working on Phonics will have their decodable book to read, and a ‘reading for pleasure’ book to be read to them. This reading should be logged on Boomreader. Children who are no longer on Phonically decodable books will have a Reading for Pleasure book from their relevant Accelerated Reader zone.
Maths
In maths, we expect children to use TT Rockstars every day to practise their times table skills. Children in KS2 will also bring home weekly maths homework based on their learning in class and other key skills.
Other
We also run other homework at times, such as project-based homework and more. We also give out spellings on a weekly basis, for spelling tests in class.
Other Projects
Over the year we run a variety of optional homework projects too. We also encourage children to bring in any extra learning they’ve been doing at home!
