Every single school day counts at Sharlston Community School. These are the most important years of your child’s life, and we don’t want them to miss a thing!
At Sharlston we know that regular attendance is directly linked to raising achievement and develops skills for life and work. Good attendance has an immeasurable number of benefits, both academically and socially. We are committed to ensuring that every child can access every opportunity, and children being in school is a fundamental part of that belief. We expect children to attend every day, and be on time every day.

Breakfast Club
We also run daily wrap-around-care before school, as well as after-school enrichment opportunities for all children. Including after school clubs, school is open from 7:45am to 4.15pm every day, which equates to 42.5 hours each week. Although school starts at 8:50am, our doors open at 8:45am so that children can be in school and ready to learn, and to ease congestion in and around school.
Breakfast Club starts at 7:45am and runs to 8:45am.
