We understand how important it is to pass on information and communicate effectively with parents and families. Our main channel for sending information home is via My Child at School which allows both email and text messages to be sent from school.
We also use My Child at School to allow parents to pay for items such as after school clubs, school trips, book bags, water bottles etc. Our parents’ evening booking system is also via My Child at School and appointments for pupil progress meetings can be made online.
PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
The PTA of Sharlston Community School is made up of volunteers (mainly parents of children at the school) who meet to work on fundraising ideas to add to school funds. These funds are used to enhance and enrich the experiences of all pupils in school. Funds have been raised by holding a summer fair, Halloween and Valentine Discos, an Easter Bingo event, weekly tuck shops, raffles and refreshment selling at the KS1/2 Sports Days (to name but a few).
Our PTA is newly re-established and are looking for any willing volunteers! If you would like to find out more about our PTA or if you would like to get involved, please contact the School Office.

My Child at School (MCAS)
When your child joins our school you will be sent a link with an invitation code to create an account. Please follow the link and register using your email address and/or mobile phone number. The easiest way to access My Child at School is via the app. which can be downloaded to a mobile device.
Sharlston School has a Facebook page where we post upcoming events and information on what’s happening in school. If you have a Facebook account then please search “Sharlston Community School” and click “Like” 
Sharlston School has a Twitter account where we can Tweet about all the fantastic work that is being done in school and at home. If you have a Twitter account then please search @SharlstonSchool
Microsoft Teams
All our remote learning is done via Microsoft Teams. Microsoft TEAMS can be downloaded as a free app on your device, or can be accessed via the RMUnify link found on the Waterton Academy Trust website. Waterton Academy Trust
From 1st July 2016, Sharlston Community School became part of the Waterton Academy Trust. The Trust is based at Walton Primary Academy, The Grove, Walton, Wakefield, WF2 6LD.
