Personal Development is at the heart of Sharlston.
Our entire school ethos of Support and Challenge to Succeed and SHINE is built upon a far-reaching and inclusive PD offer.
We believe that every child who walks through our doors should have access to not only the best academic offer, but also the best personal development offer that meets the needs of our children and community. Our PD offer is highly-personalised, highly inclusive and provides our children with the skills, knowledge, support and opportunities to become well-rounded members of our local community, and the wider world. Personal Development is a golden thread through school, interwoven into all curriculum areas of daily life via our SHINE approach. We aim for every child to leave Sharlston with the skillset to make a positive contribution and value everyone, and themselves.
Our aim, at Sharlston Community School, is to offer a broad and balanced SHINE curriculum, providing opportunities for our children to gain the essential knowledge, skills and understanding which will enable them to flourish and reach their full potential in life. Each child will be supported and challenged to experience success. The curriculum is interwoven with developing the key attributes embodied within our AT SHARLSTON WE SHINE message.
